I haven't noticed it much until recently when I listen to music every night to get my mind off studying for my finals. Some of the songs I downloaded "legally" or not just got skipped over. I tried resetting and reloading but they just wouldn't play. The funny thing is that they played fine in the iTunes. What's wrong?

There is probably something wrong with the music file.

  4. one of two reasons:

    incompatible codec
    incompatible sample rates

I downloaded another version but it still doesn't work. In fact, a few songs don't even show up on the Ipod. Again, they're all in the Itune and play fine.

Maybe try restoring your ipod and then resync all your music over

  12. put it through an audio editing program and reconvert it change sample rate n mp3.

I thought iTunes automatically converts it to .aac or w/e so that it takes up less space on the iPods?

I tried restoring it twice and the same things happened .. Yup .. I set up so that all my songs are automatically converted to whichever (mp3, aac, etc...)

It can't be the Ipod cuz the same happened to all of them (5) so I gathered it's the song file yet I have downloaded various version and still yielded the same result .. just outright weird.

  15. its not named in a foreign language or anything?

try the manual convert, maybe itunes didn't convert it correctly.

  16. what ipod are u using? the older nano versions?

cause theres a problem with the old ones, same problem. cant be fixed. apparently its some firmware update the fked up the ipod and apple doesnt give a damn about the older generations anymore

some say converting to AAC through itunes work, but no good for me. u can try it

I only have the last and latest generation Ipods. I lost a lot of it already so yeah .. no, not foreign languages .. English. I'll play around with it some more .. if all else failed, then gotta forget those songs .. can only do so much., right?
