How did you get hooked onto Oriental Music?

    So how did you get hooked onto any Asian/Oriental music?

    I saw Initial D and heard Jay Chou and Jay Chou's Paio Yi, been hooked ever since.:D

    i always liked it.i think andy lau was the first singer i listened to when i was a kid then got into hip hop and pop..all english music til twins and joey yung and boa came out..thats when i really started to listen to asian music and interested too

    well, i used to hate chinese music because the only chinese music i was ever exposed to was my mom's old old chinese tunes, but it all changed when i heard modern chinese music. The same for my cousins. lmao, wannabe fobs yup.

    my mama be buying those karoke hits tape back then..with leon lai, jacky cheung, karen tong, aaron kwok..dont really actually remember andy lau in it..lol..but i think the first song i heard was leon lai" sai yo nana O"..lol..it was hekka popular back then..there was more..kinda forgot.

    the back dormitory boys. "hou she nan sheng" - i.e. the asian backstreet boys. they lip-synched to some asian songs, and the rest is history.

    I`ve always liked chinese music too,sometimes I wanna sing to it hehe but my chinese isn`t very good:p but I`m learning hehe
    Now I can the Twins & Boyz Song^_^

  10. first i hated chinese music... but then ive heared some friends chinese music and kinda liked it so since then im listening to it... and that happened 2 weeks ago? XD so kinda nubish with knowing who is what and what is who :p

    I listened to english music alot until i started hearing some good modern chinese songs... dunno how i got hooked up though >.< Well i mainly listen to the beat, sometimes i don't even know what they're singing about
     
  18. Yeahhh!! I love it!! Asian music is better than Englishy music ^^ Well...thats what I think anyways but some of it is okies tho :D

    I was tired a bit of the current RnB/Hip-Hop (As it went a bit too predictable) and a girl I shared an apartment with played nearly only canto or mandarin songs and I started of liking one of the Guang Liang songs, and I liked it quite a lot and a good number of Cantoense songs do well on the piano so I started to like them a lot...So now I listen mostly to Canto pop, Punk, and whatever is new...

    i used to listen to it whenever my mom played it. but i never really liked the stuff she listened to.
    or i listened to stuff on the radio sometimes too.
    then i watched 'mo gan dou' (infernal affairs) and ever since then, ive been hooked -lol
