How do you make your computer run faster?

My laptop is sort of slow sometimes when I browse the internet or using softwares.

I use Ccleaner to clean my computer, and AVG anti-virus software.

How do you make your computer run faster?

Have you tried defragging your harddrive?

 

i think she got the spywares and shit from the amount of XXX sites she goes on

Back to the OP's question, I have the same prob before and it was the stupid anti-virus program. I did it the hard way. I deleted everything and re-installed everything.

I suggest backing up all your important files each time and clean up your laptop at least once a month. That's what I am doing now but it's slow .. internet wise cuz I got the very BASIC services .. no money .. lol

I'm not sure how to clean my
computer. I know how to backup my files. when I got the laptop,I think I made a backup cd. I think I'll use that.

 

haahhah lol @ the first 9 posts.. even on a computer thread you guys can't let go

you really can't make a computer any faster than it is.. sure cleaning up files will help. But overall you're not gonna notice much difference unless you upgrade the parts to it.

And fine. Flower, things you can do:
1. More RAM.
2. Defrag
3. Run a virus scan
4. Remove the porn
5. Reformat HD
6. Buy a new laptop

Do consider taking "Intro to Computational Organization" and "Operating Systems" at York for your CS degree..

 

drivers could be an issue too.. or some updates that screws up the system..
or overheating..

but yeah.. ask a friend to clean it ^^
