Since DVRs are getting less expensive I would want to get one, but not sure how it actually works. I know it burns the TV shows onto DVD, but i'm confused about the writing speed. Since u record shows in real time, how is the writing speed applicable? For example, I record simpsons (30 mins), does the DVR adjust the writing speed automatically?
I think the speed of the recording is set to auto for the DVR. (assuming your buying a cheap version) How the automatic speed is determined is usually two things: 1. Depends on the dvd drive in your DVR (usually tells you supported speeds on the box description before you buy). 2. Also the speeds of your DVD+-RW/DVD+-R discs that it supports. Hope that helps.
You talking about Recordable DVDs, DVD Recorder, or DVR (Tivo type things). Because DVRs are actually Hard Drive based, not DVD...
well it is kinda like recording on a video. But after recording on my dvd recorder you have to finalise it.
wat i dont get is if record a program then can u record another porgram behind that? cos if ur using a dvd-r then surly once u record one program and take the disk out u can rewrite anything to the disk again right?
Well on the one i got, u can record as much as u want(well if there are space for u to) but just don't finalise it if it's a dvdr. Once u finalise the dvdr then u can't rewrite it.
