The Christmas and New Year holidays are those times of the year when TVB celebrities are able to finish off their fruitful year with some last-minute money-making endeavors. On December 31, New Year’s Eve, numerous countdown celebrations were underway around the city of Hong Kong, attended by many TVB artists. Fala is the Godmother of Chilam Chilam Cheung (張智霖), Fala Chen (陳法拉), and Samantha Ko (高海寧) attended a countdown celebration together at San Po Kong, New Kowloon. The stars also participated in many games with the audience; Chilam and Fala also had fun poking fun at some iconic scenes from Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles <名媛望族>. Chilam and Fala became close friends after working together on the set of Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II>. Chilam revealed that the entire cast of Triumph in the Skies 2 refers to Fala as “godmother,” a nickname that was started by costar Francis Ng (吳鎮宇). Fala did not appreciate the name at all. “Of course I don’t like it! I’m the youngest in the cast, but now they made me sound so old! I am not worthy of the title; I was living a life of labor! I was basically [the cast’s] servant, taking care all of their daily needs. The nickname just stuck!” Chilam expressed that Fala was in charge of booking flights, parties, and rooms during their location filming in Europe. “I also owe Fala some money,” Chilam disclosed. “When we were in France, Fala, Francis, and I went to a wine auction and we managed bid for a bottle of wine. I forgot to pay my share to her.” Myolie, Nancy, and Oscar Celebrate Together Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), and Oscar Leung (梁烈唯) attended another countdown celebration in Tsim Sha Tsui. Oscar is currently involved in a lawsuit with restaurateur Kenny Wee (黃浩), who is suing for libel over Oscar’s claims that Kenny has “persecutory delusions.” Oscar earlier compared Kenny Wee to a locust, a common annoying insect, during a Commercial Radio Hong Kong (CRHK) last week. Oscar explained that he spent Christmas Eve cleaning his windows at home over and over again until they were speck-free. A large locust-like bug fell unconscious outside his house after trying to fly through his clear windows. Asked again if Oscar finally managed to get rid of his locust problems, Oscar laughed, “I didn’t have time to wipe my windows.” Regarding to recent rumors that Kenny was sponsored by a wealthy individual to file lawsuits against celebrities, Oscar responded, “My lawyer is handling the case. I will no longer comment.” On the other hand, Nancy attended the function wearing a bright purple dress and bright red socks. Nancy explained, “Hopefully I can bring the luck I had in 2012 to 2013!” Nancy’s ex-boyfriend, Deep Ng (吳浩康), earlier announced that he would have Nancy treat him for dinner if she won Best Supporting Actress at the TVB Anniversary Awards. Nancy said, “We haven’t had the time for that yet, but we kept in touch. He did congratulate me. I am very thankful. Hopefully [Deep] will continue to work hard in 2013, and achieve great success in his singing career. Having a stable singing career is his ultimate goal.” Wayne Lai Wants More Vacations Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Kenneth Ma (馬國明), and Jess Sum (沈卓盈) attended a similar countdown celebration party in Tsuen Wan. Wayne Lai had nothing but praises to Raymond Lam (林峯) when the reporters mentioned that Raymond was considering his retirement from the entertainment industry to help out his family’s business. “Raymond really works hard. He is an all-rounder actor and singer. He regularly goes to mainland China to film his films and dramas. He is really exhausted all the time, but he is capable of earning much because he can do so much. Even I always complain about wanting to retire soon because of work, and I just film dramas!” Wayne also expressed that his wish for 2013 is to be able to have more vacations. “The Confidant” Will Have a Sister Production Wayne reveal that he is currently in preparations to film for Rosy Business 3 <巾幗梟雄之諜血雌雄>, which will commence in February 2013. Asked if TVB currently has intentions to film The Great Five Eunuchs <太監五虎>, a sister production of The Confidant <大太監>, Wayne said, “The company is currently planning it, but I don’t think it will be about eunuchs anymore. If the plans come through, I should be able to film it after Rosy Business 3 is completed.” Koo Ming Wah Joins “The Hippocratic Crush 2” Cast Asked if Kenneth had great projects planned for 2013, Kenneth answer that his acting career is still the big focus. “The first big thing next year is filming for the sequel of The Hippocratic Crush <On Call 36小時>! But that isn’t until Lunar New Year. Before that, I will be seeking for other opportunities to earn more cash.” Kenneth revealed that besides Lawrence Ng (吳啟華) and Eliza Sam (岑麗香), Koo Ming Wah (古明華) was also added to the new cast of the sequel. Kenneth also denied rumors indicating that he would be groomed to be TVB’s next #1 brother after Raymond Lam leaves the industry. “It will be a waste if Raymond does retire. He still has a long way to go! I also never heard of reports that TVB has those plans for me. TVB is such a big company. There are still many other artists waiting for promotion.” Sheldon Lo Refutes Mag Lam’s Eating Disorder Rumors After losing her voice a few months ago, Mag Lam (林欣彤) went through a severe mental breakdown. Mounted by the fatigue and pressure that came along due to her busy work schedules, rumors say that Mag finally developed depression and an eating disorder. Mag is currently on hiatus, postponing her album promotions and performances until next year. Her agency, EEG, stated that Mag’s promotion activities would start again in February 2013. Rumored boyfriend, Sheldon Lo (羅孝勇), attended a countdown celebration in Tuen Mun. He denied the reports saying that Mag has an eating disorder, and said, “The Mag I know loves to eat. She could finish an entire BBQ Chicken Rice in one setting. She can’t have an eating disorder!” Asked if he would be holding a party with Mag to celebrate the New Year’s, Sheldon responded evasively, “Maybe the entire The Voice <超級巨聲> cast would host a New Year’s party. Or maybe we will all go out to dinner or karaoke.”
