Er... for those that are not familiar with the actual words of the first stanza of the US national anthem (aka The Star Spangled Banner), the following are the lyrics:

Generally, only the first stanza is sung or played as a preamble to social, civic, or ceremonial events. What is interesting is that every American learns this song in childhood, and is so frequently exposed to it thoughout his life, that it is almost inconceivable that anyone should not know the words to it. The looks on the people's faces are priceless.

  2. ^ maybe he grew up in the ghetto were they dont sing that everyday or at all? we don't know his circumstances.

he is a noob for doing it knowing he doesnt know the song, humming it doesnt cut it lolz, maybe it was a last minute change??

i give him credit for keeping it up till the end cus most people would have froze/walked off/cried -

  3. i saw this an was greatly appalled..... even if you didn't know the words to begin with they can be learned...

Really now, he didn't even need to know the words. He could have found them on line in less than 30 seconds and printed out a copy before going on stage with it. I bet his wife already divorced him, and his kids won't admit to being his. I bet even his partner will now refuse to ride with him... LOL...

"...and the home, of the... free" <_<

lol I don't think it's THAT extreme. At least the modified lyrics were on key with the song :)

But then again he's part of the police force, so he should know he's serving America (and thus the song associated with it). Eh.. at least he has the faith if not the words?

On the other hand, maybe his rendition is emblematic of the America that we now live in, a confused and misquoted version of its former self...
