Hey guys. So I bought a mic the other day, hoping to use it to sing Karaoke. I have karaoke videos (ie. music and no voice) on my PC already. However, the mic I got seems to be one of those that just record your voice, and doesn't really amplify it. So my question is, is there a way I can make my mic amplify my voice, using it as like a loudspeaker instead of a recording instrument? Thanks a lot, feel free to ask questions! Thanks
Most soundcards have the option to +20db boost your mic. If yours does, did you enable it then ? In XP you would double-click on the speaker icon in the systray to open the Volume Control. Then you choose Options menu -> Properties -> Recording -> Make sure Microphone is a selected recording source -> OK. Then make sure your Mic recording volume is max and then click on the Advanced button if it's possible and enable +20db boost.
