Well.. My family just got a new car and my parents are wondering if there is any way to protect the car door. Basically, the car is parked against a very low brick wall, and if you aren't careful you could hit the edge of the car door against the brick wall, and leave a nasty dent/scratched paint on the door-Not exactly what you'd want on a new car. So is there anyway to prevent the dent/scratch marks (Aside from not parking the car there )? Is there some kind of protector which can be applied to the door? Thanks for your help (hope I made sense lol)
don't open the door... jump in thru sun roof or open window =) lol rubber bits help in certain areas... but doesn't stop everything... but one thing u learn is... u lose feeling after a few dents and scratches...
lol. Knew someone would make a comment like that. *shrugs* Its an expensive car, and well, my mum wants to treat this car just a little bit better then our old one lol. I'll look into the rubber bits to see if they are any good-Thanks
the rubber bits make the car look ugly btw!! plus dents can always buff out =) depending how big it is... and whether u can justify it... friend opened door into corner of brick wall >.< but yeah... after a while... u kinda don'tnotice anymore only other reasonable advice would be put some foamy/cushiony thingy at that wall so wen u do park there and accidentally open too much, no scratch or dent =)
can't really do anything about... rubber won't help much if you park a car in an area where theres 2 car besides you.. if they open too wide.. they'll still make dents on it lol
u can get a clear armour kit. i got that option when i got my car. its basically like a invisible bra. it covers the front of the car and parts of the hood, the front of the side mirrors, the edge of the car doors and the side skirts. i've never hit my door b4 but my friend did it once and lightly opened my door against the wall. it didn't leave no marks. u don't even see anything on the clear armour.
yup the clear armor works the best (until it falls off lol) but also get some for the rear bumper too
I can imagine somebody seeing us entering the car and thinking "Sheesh, Asians also can't park for crap" Ok. I'll take a look at this clear armour kit.
I guess that could work; Except that its an uncovered area. Would rubber or some other material on the wall look really ugly?
meh, most of the stuff you can buy to apply to your car doors to stop dents are pretty worthless, the best thing you can do is park kinda far away when your in parking lots, people who park close to the building are usually in a rush and you have more chance of getting a ding. You dont want to park too far away though lol, iv found that having a nice car, when i park really far away in a parking lot, someone inevitably parks next to me... probably just out of spite.
its just a wall so it doens' tmatter...do u really care how a wall looks like?? if its a new car you would want to protect it from every dent...but in the end u'll konw its not possible...well goood luckk
walls are usually ugly neway cover it up with cushions/foam/anything u can find thats soft else just remove the wall its probably not needed... =)
This. Look at how this stupid sack of shit parked his POS civic. Story behind this: I usually park near the corner of the car park. Since the spots are diagonally parked, there's a lot of extra space between the last spot and the wall. So I usually park closer to the wall giving the guy next to me more space. Since I know the guy in the corolla, he usually does the same with me. This idiot in the red civic squeeze in between us when there's clearly not enough room and parks his car with his entire trunk hanging out.
for something like that id leave a note on the windshield saying " Hi, Please dont park like an asshole Thanks, Anonymous "
