How to rip vcds?

i was wondering how do you rip vcd/dvds? i got TONS of cantonese/mandarin movies, but unfortunately i don't know how to rip :( otherwise i'd share LOl anyone wanna teach me how to rip and then convert them to avi or rmvb file? is this where i can post this ?! LOl

 

ripping vcds the easy way

copy the dat file and rename it to ur mpg/avi
=P

 

The not so easy way is to use something like PocketDivX Encoder and encode it to a divx format (the file size should be smaller since the compression algorithm is more advanced)
When finding the file to open, type in * for file name and it should list all the files. Dat files are located in mpegav (or something like that)

 

Vcdgear. Google it a nice handy program to rip it to most common encodes.
