Last week I received my third 360 from Microsoft and decided to go ahead and get it modded again so that I can play backed up games. I received the 360 a week ago and did not have time to play it till today. I decided to buy RockBand and as soon as I turn it on, there is a very loud noise and I get 4 red lights. The 360 is no good again... I think the guy I sent to sent me a different 360 then I sent to him and I forgot to write down the serial number because I thought the guy was a trustable guy ... (btw he did the second mod for free and charged 70 for the last mod). I think I am going to forget 360's once and for all and just buy a PS3 :(. I was so happy that I bought rockband, but now I can't even play it. Sorry for the long rant; just kinda pissed off
Wait... So you modded your xbox after you got it back? So the xbox that broke was your modded xbox? And you sure it was 4 red lights? Cause that means your cables aren't plugged in right, which seems weird since there was a loud sound that you heard... I'm confused -huh
modded again? and it broke again? dude, have you ever thought that there might be a connection between modding the thing and it breaking?
And I don't really see why you need to mod it to play backed up games. I heard they work fine on unmodded 360's. Unless I'm wrong?
lol thats what I was thinking fearless... damn I mean.. shoulda gave up the modding thing after the 1st time...
I think it might be the modding problem. It's a software mod (no mod chip is installed) but it maybe the reason why it seems to stop working. The only reason why I thought it wasn't a modding problem cause one of my friends got his modded from another guy and it has works fine (he had his for about a year and a half). I'm going to go ahead and send the 360 back to Microsoft and ask my friend if the guy that modded his will be able to mod mine when it comes back but if it breaks down again it will be the last attempt at modding and I guess this is what I get for trying to dl games instead of paying for them.-noclue @khaotic I looked up online and saw that the 4 red lights were due to AV cable problem but it seems as though for some reason the 360 gets really loud then the 4 red lights flashes, not sure why.
microsoft might inspect your system and see what is causing the constant returns.. if they find evidence of a software mod they might void your warranty. sending your system in so many times is risky.
dude.. your xbox360 caught a TROJAN!! RoLLBACK QUICK!! if all else fails.. REFORMAT! -rotfl jk mang..
LOL Ecko, nice... and wow modding your xbox does come with problems so you can't hate on 360's like that... i think you should just stop trying to mod it.... >____<
^^ Yea, I'm going to stop modding them; fearless is right they might catch on to me since this is going to be the 4th one. I guess once they send me the next one I'll just use it as a down payment for a PS3.
im surprised they send out a new one to u if u've tried to mod it. wouldn't they know when they check to see if the system is working to see what the problem is.
The problem is that since Microsoft gets thousands of 360's sent to them daily all they do is once they receive the system that is damaged; they send a refurbished system without checking the system that was sent in.
My modded 360 has been working fine for 2 yrs. Just a DVD drive firmware mod. 360's may be fussy with certain DVD-R DL. The brand I find most reliable so far is Memorex DL DVD-R+ DL. I hear the newer 360's will have a new main board. New mod may be needed.
