I have a cable modem that's hot or warm!

hi there i have a SMCD3GN cable modem/router. was wondering if i put a laptop cooler on it will that make the modem more efficient or make it worse for it?

 

you can put a laptop cooler or you could build and customize one. it will cool down alot.

 

you could just mod a casing fan to put on the modem. as long as there is airflow thru the modem it will cool down.

 

you could try to put the modem near a window or something where there's fresh air coming in frequently.

 

efficient???? not sure about that, but it's good to decrease the heat with the cooler fan pad. might keep the wear and tear of the circuit in check and last longer.

 

hahaha whats the point of keeping it long, every two yrs a new one comes out, just change it
