I want to lose weight! Please help!

    Hi! Everyone, I'm 22 female and I wanna lose weight. I'm 5 ft 5 and I weigh about 9- 10 stone!! I'm huge!!!!

    Its so depressing, I dun wanna go out or eat. Ive even tried throwing up stuff that I eat. I'm disgusted with my body. I exercise a lot in the gym but nothing seems to help.

    I want to lose 2 stone! Can anyone please,please suggest a good diet plan to me. I would really appreciate it.

    Same here, but to bz to commit to the gym. Throwing up is not the way to go.

    everything in moderation. u don't want to just cut out all the bad stuff (eg. chocolate). when u do that, ur just asking for trouble. i managed to lose 40 pounds and i didn't do anything drastic. here are some of the stuff i did:
    1. PLENTY OF WATER!!! water is important. i drink about 2 litres a day. flushes out all the bad stuff. i also find that my skin is looking great too.
    2. i switched from white rice to brown rice. it takes some getting use to but it's not too bad. but i still eat white rice (prob once or twice a week). hell would freeze over b4 i give up congee or pho.
    3. keep meat portions small. i'm 5'5" and my doc told me that my meat portions should not be any larger than a cigarette pack.
    4. i don't eat after 8 p.m. if i do get really hungry than i usually eat a fruit. it's basically just important to not eat 4 hours b4 bed cause ur body needs to burn off the food.
    5. CUT out POP! pop is just about the worse thing on earth for ur body. but i do understand that sometimes there is jsut a craving for it, so if u have to have one then have one. just don't make it a regular thing.
    6. snacking junk food...it is bad but if there is a craving then satisfy the craving. i find with me if i'm craving a piece of chocolate badly and i don't eat one then i end up eating the whole bar later. again, the main word: MODERATION. but i do find that if u keep lots of fruit already cut in the fridge they usually help cause fruits are sweet.
    7. EXERCISE! trust me. i used to be one of those ppl that would cringe from head to toe at the thought of running. but after pushing myself, i actually enjoy it now. especially once u start to see results. i run about and hour 5 times a week. lately, i'm running everyday, i find it makes me less moody, stressed and i sleep better too.
    8. It's little things here and there that u could do that really adds up. examples: coffee (i use sweetener and milk instead of cream and sugar), really want chocolate? then have a piece of hershey instead of the caramilk (the caramel is BAD!), juice (make ur own, juice boxes are usually just filled with sugar), yogurt for ice cream, white meat over dark and leave the skin out.
    9. i also drink a big cup of green tea every morning. no sugar, cream, milk. nothing. heard drinking green tea helps.
    10. I LOVE corn pops but thats bad for u too. but i can't give it up. so i make my cereal 1/3 corn pops and 2/3 cheerios. wherever u can, make it whole wheat instead of white.
    that's all i can think of right now. u gotta remember that there is no fast way of doing it. it all takes time. it took me about 9 months to get to where i am now. and i gotta tell ya, it was sooooo worth it. there were times when i just wanted to smash my treadmill to pieces but now, there is nothing i love more. u really have to get into the mind set that u really really really want to do it. if u dont' then no amount of help from others will help u. i found buying a really really nice dress in ur goal size and hanging it in a place that u can see it helps. my bro put lee hyori pics all around the treadmill to encourage me.

    well.. you are definitely not huge if what lookout say is true. Just slightly overweight. There are more who were way overweight and have managed to slim down.

    lee-lee seems to be really experienced in this matter. Good points.

    What I can add to the diet will be: cut down meat; eat veggie, fruits.

    And do the proper exercise. What do you use at gym? Use the treadmill or do some cycling. What you need is aerobic exercise. Try to have each session more than half an hr. That is when you get the real workout. Dun life weights. That will only make you musculine and increase your weight.

    And dun expect results overnight. lee-lee took 9 months.. expect sth like that. :D

    Even before anyone mention how much 9-10 stones is, I think it's a wee bit too ambitious (and unreasonable) to want to lose 20% of your body weight.

    Plenty of exercise and regular eating/sleeping schedule helps BTW. If you stay up late, your body will end up storing MORE energy units as fat, so NOT a good idea. And be sure you eat breakfast, not necessary anything big, but just make sure you eat something, otherwise you will end up having less energy for use throughout the day and storing more fat.

    Aiy....The thing is i go to bed qutie late, they say eatting 5 small potion meals a day gets ure metabolism going. And you lose weight quicker, but to be honest i can't eat 5 meals a day, i can only eat 1 or 2 meals max. Aiy... and i know eatting less is bad coz when u do it your body stores more fat.

    Any particular reason why you have to go to bed late or have few meals?? Since they are some of the easiest thing to do to help losing weight.

    It's either stay at the gym for 3hrs everyday or eating regularly (plus sleeping regularly), preferrably both, but AT LEAST one of them. I have a feeling that you know most of the things members on PA are gonna say in terms of methods, since there are limited number of effective methods to losing weight. Your question, however, is how to motivate yourself to commit to a particular method.

    Have a diet jar -- every single time you do something that is outside the chosen diet (or skipped a session at the gym), you put in 1 pound or 1 USD or 10HKD, something around the cost of a pack of chewing gum (nothing big). Do statistic of how you do to keep in check (with the diet) weekly. The fact that you got less money in the jar every week really get you hyped up.

    But of course, it's another story if it's a clinical depression case.

    go blame your genes that make u get fat..

    Are you seem getting fat no matter how little u eat? well going to gym doesn't make u lost some stones. Gym is a place to get your body,hand, feet stronger it is not a diet place,

    Tips
    *drink water rather soda
    *8+hr sleep.
    *eat daily 2-3 time (don't let your self hungry or over eat)
    *no junk food, candy, high fat stuff,

    hrmm have you tried any diets??...there are quick diets and just regular diets like low calorie, low fat, etc. haha i'm trying to lose weight..too..hihi.. haha i don't eat after 6. sum sites to check out:

    139lbs.. that's not that fat.. i dont think -huh... but just know that they're are people bigger than you out there.. so chill... -lol

  16. First off... the stones things just makes it sound worst... don't tell no guy.. oh I'm 10 stones.. O_O;; like wtf...

    you gotta say it so it doesn't sound as bad... like instead of 10 stones.. say.. 10 pebbles... you'll feel a lot better..

    I think it's an unreasonable comment, stone is a popular unit of weight in the British Isles which approximates 14 pounds (see wiki) Would you think someone is fatter because they tell you their weight in pounds?

    I was having the same feeling, but I never know how to put it in mild terms.
