If you had to choose between intellect and physical looks, which would you pick?

This is hard one. When someone first asked me this (EITHER OR cannot be in-between or both), i automatically said intelligence because i don't want to spend the rest of my life with someone who i couldn't have decent conversations with. But on the other hand, I realize that I also value physical looks maybe not to the extent of marrying solely based upon looks but I don't think I could marry someone who wasn't one bit appealing, physically. Realistically most people are average-looking and only some who are drop-dead good-looking.

So which would you pick and why? What matters to you most?

 

Being a man, I would choose a girl with good physical looks.

There is an old chinese saying "if you have a son have a smart one, if you have a daughter have a beautiful one." It is not entirely true in today's society but it has its logics.

 

Having a handsome guy or beautiful girl with no brains is just someone with no depth.

You might go for looks if you are not looking for sth deeper in a relationship and just want a sex object.

As for me, I'll go for someone average-looking with intelligence.
Looks only go so far. I'll be bored if he can't have a decent conversation with me without looking stupid. Besides, i ain't got sex on my mind 24 hours a day.
On the other hand; if he's totally unappealing looks-wise, I doubt I can fall for him.

 

The topic starter said cannot be in the middle. Either looks or brains. I would've chosen an average girl with some intelligence too.

On the other hand, if I really had to choose, I'd go for intellect lol.

Coz whilst u can't add on to a person's IQ, you can always opt for the medical means to enhance ur looks... lol

My initial choice was intellect with average looks!

In that case, I would go for a girl with average looks but smart too.

I would go for intellectual too, if he is too dumb it would be boring and he would be useless. How is he gonna support me......But he can't be dead ugly too cause i have to look at him for the rest of ma life.....-what? So, yeah average would be the best...Too good looking 99% he is gonna stray hahahaha-nono

 

I would definitely without a doubt whether be with someone with brains and no looks otherwise it'll be too boring, and with looks, it doesn't last in the long run!

 

Brain is sexy, looks wither and could become boring to look at...

Brain gets you far and wide

 

Brains definitely win hands down. Beauty/good looks don't last!

But of course, I can't put up with the brains of Einstein and the face of Frankenstein...
