After winning Best Actor at the 49th Golden Horse Awards for his role in Johnnie To’s (杜琪峯) Life Without Principle <奪命金>, Sean Lau (劉青雲) is now back in Guangzhou, China to film for the Pang brothers’ 3D fire disaster film, Inferno 3D <逃出生天3D>. The film, which is slated for a late December 2013 release, also costars Louis Koo (古天樂), Angelica Lee(李心潔), and Eddie Cheung (張兆輝). Inferno 3D tells the story of two firefighter brothers, portrayed by Sean and Louis, who are challenged by the fire disasters erupting in the city of Guangzhou. After the filming of Inferno 3D is completed, the onscreen brothers will team up again for Alan Mak (麥兆輝) and Felix Chong’s (莊文強) Overheard 3 <竊聽風雲3>. Universe Films invested over $150 million HKD on the budget of Inferno 3D. After a brief hiatus, production resumed filming in Guangzhou on November 25, in which over fifteen fire and ambulance trucks were mobilized for the filming. A crew member revealed that the Guangzhou government closed down five major downtown streets in the Zhujiang New Town area for the next five days to aid the film production, and sent over 200 police officers to guard the film facilities. Real-life Guangzhou firefighters were also asked to help out in the filming production. “Film King” Sean arrived to the film set with high spirits. When he entered the facilities, he was immediately greeted with champagne, a large cake, and a large bouquet of flowers by the film crew. Universe Films representative, Lam Siu Keung, expressed that Sean will receive a significant pay raise for the film, “We still have another movie lined up for Sean. [His salary] is very negotiable. Let’s have a pleasant cooperation!” Natalie Tong Kisses Louis Koo Former TVB actor Joe Ma (馬德鐘), and TVB starlet, Natalie Tong (唐詩詠), will also be starring in the film. Joe will portray Sean and Louis’ colleague, while Natalie will portray Louis’ girlfriend. Inferno 3D is Natalie’s first major action film. Louis and Natalie filmed a proposal scene on Monday night, in which Louis proposed to Natalie in the midst of a disastrous field. After accepting her ring, Natalie immediately kissed Louis passionately on the lips. Natalie had no qualms in performing the intimate act in front of her respected senior actor, and the scene was completed swiftly without any outtakes. Creds: Next magazine
