It's official now: Taken from Engadget: "t's high noon, Apple and AT&T -- we really hate to break it to you, but the jig is up. Last night the impossible was made possible: right in front of our very eyes we witnessed a full SIM unlock of our iPhone with a small piece of software. It's all over, guys. The iPhoneSIMfree.com team called us up to prove their claim that they cracked Apple's iPhone SIM lock system, and prove it they did. (No, we don't have a copy of the unlock software, so don't even ask us, ok?) The six-man team has been working non-stop since launch day, and they're officially the first to break Apple's SIM locks on the iPhone. It's done. Seriously. They wouldn't tell us when and how they would release it to the public, but you can certainly bet that they'll try to make a buck on their solution (and rightly so). We can hardly believe the iPhone's finally been cracked. No, scratch that -- we just can't believe it took this long. Again: we can confirm with 100% certainty that iPhoneSIMfree.com's software solution completely SIM unlocks the iPhone, is restore-resistant, and should make the iPhone fully functional for users outside of the US" Source: http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/24/iphone-unlocked-atandt-loses-iphone-exclusivity-august-24-2007/ Knoc
i really thing iphone is over-rated... you'll see, apple is just gonna screw everyone over when iphone v2 is out like in a year or so...
hmm good thing i havent bought it yet, when v2 comes out all those fools that bought it when it first came out are gonna be so dissapointed
Same I'm really hoping to wait for the v2 to come out before I get one. I hope it's not too pricey for my budget =p
the iPhone is really overrated. theres nothing great about it, i believe a phone should jst stay a phone - and if you really want to listen to music, get a mp3
oh yah.. and there's nothing in the law that prohibits hackers from unlocking phones... so.. apple and at&t is really not going to get much from the revenues and stuff if this continues
iphone overrated???? i think not! find another device that even comes close to what the iphone can do! and don't forget the finish and quality of the iphone, it's top notch! really! might be a little pricey, but remember, it's 3 or 4 devices combined...and very usable... if i was in the us, i would definitely get it... iphone in canada?? might be awhile...the fact that iphone runs on "unlimited" data plan...that will not happen anytime soon in canada... and without this constant connection to the internet, iphone won't be at its full potential...
with it being unlocked..it would be unofficial in canada...official..rogers would be carrying it without the unlimited data
