A some more info: * The mobile version of OS X or whatever it is the iPhone runs takes up 700MB of the device's capacity. Damn son! * There's no way to cut, copy, or paste text! WHOA! Big, big mistake. * No A2DP support. That, friends, is such a huge bummer right there. * Sorry, music can't be used as a ringtone -- even if it's just a raw MP3. No additional ringtones will be sold at launch. * On a PC the iPhone syncs with Outlook for calendars AND addresses! Noice. * It supports Exchange in some capacity, according to Walt, but he doesn't exactly say how. * Pogue again confirms document file reading -- but not editing -- for PDF, Word, and Excel (only). * Adobe Flash support is officially out. It's just not in the browser. Neither is there any other kind of embedded video support. Sorry everybody, that's that. * It will take snaps, but won't record video. How can Apple love YouTube as much as it does and not realize cellphone-shot movies make up a sizeable chunk of the crazy crap you find on there?
sounds like a pretty half ass package... i think il wait for the Google phone.. or maybe upgrade to a Helio Ocean one day
iphone is total trash.....but you'll see those really rich ppl holding it, cuz ppl know it's expensive.....showoffs.....i'll wait for a super phone =) from Motorola
It looks quite crappy to me. Many useless features and not enough useful ones. The technology isn't mature yet.
The features it doesn't have, courtesy of Gizmodo: • Songs as Ringtones • Games • Any flash support • Instant Messaging-Some mention of Ichat • Picture messages (MMS) • Video recording • Voice recognition or voice dialing • Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Streaming (A2DP) • One-size-fits-all headset jack (May have to buy an adapter for certain headphones) • 3G (EV-DO/HSDPA) • GPS • A real keyboard • Removable battery • Expandable Storage • Direct iTunes Music Store Access (Over Wi-Fi or EDGE) Source: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/apple/finally-confirmed-what-the-iphone-doesnt-have-272571.php
I wasn't impressed by the fact that iPhone doesn't have GPS, expendable storage and removable battery... And surely the whole "no video recording" thing is irrelevant to me... Guess one way or another I am going to wait til they release iPhone 2.0 or some improved version
Apple signed a long term exclusive deal with AT&T. It would seem this thing isn't going to see Canada anytime soon. Also, forget about importing it or using ebay, it doesn't use a sim card.
no video or ringtones supporting mp3s wtf, could do that on older phones, thought this was a multimedia powerhouse phone, apple always place limits on their products so you have to buy everything damn.
apple's got a tight hold on things...not sure what they are up to..as there is talk of third party developers and this would change everything...
here's one more review from cnet: http://reviews.cnet.com/smart-phones/apple-iphone-8gb/4505-6452_7-32309245.html?tag=slide_1, lol everybody talking about the iphone, anybody actually purchased one here?
IMO its overpriced and it is used as a fashion statement as well as stating your "position" in the social heirarchy. The phone is defineately prone to scratches like the iPod. A total waste of money if u asked me.
Scratches... It's not like other PDA based phones are NOT prone to scratches, not to mention the iPhone are equipped with industrial grade glass (and not plastic) supposingly -whistle But I guess I just have a soft spot of Apple, can't be more of a fashion statement than the LG Prada -tongue2
