This is why its not a good idea to ride bike and have an iPod! http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2006/02/14/1139679557464.html
Wow, that's kinda crazy. Well, the instruction manual does say not to use it while driving. The headphones can get pretty loud, especially since people these days been blaming it for hearing damage/loss. I think it's happening to me, I listen to my iPod alot, and now I'm beginning to have trouble hearing and making people repeat things!
Man, that's so sad. Reminds me of how lucky I was once. I've always been very careful when crossing roads. But one time, I've just left my house, was walking with my headphones on and with the music a bit louder than the traffic. About to cross the road, so I quickly I glanced right. Thought I saw 2 guys a few meters away from me about to cross the road, so then I crossed. As I got half-way across the road, all of a sudden I heard a very loud horn - it was unbelievably close, I leaped forward instantly. The car flew by fast! I was inches away from being hit. My heart was just pounding and adrenaline was rushing all over me. I've never been in a serious accident (thank God), but that was the closest I've come to one. I was okay after a couple of minutes and continued with my day as normal. From then on, I've listened to music with one headphone on and the volume at just audible. Becareful guys and girls, listening to music or talking on your phone can be very dangerous when you're on the road. Especially if you're using your phone whilst driving, even if it's on handsfree. It's dangerous, and illegal over here in the UK.
That's bad. When you listen to music really loud and for long periods, your ears get affected and tries to muffle the sound out. Continuing to listen at this level will damage your ears and you'll become so used-to that volume, you won't even know it. Things that sound normal to you will be loud for others, and that's when you realise that you've got hearing problems. It's not happened to me, but it has for a few people I know. Gotta tone it down I have a neighbour who always turns his music on louder than you can imagine, so loud that I can feel the vibrations through the floor. And he's just two doors away. He's definitely lost it.
yea I think its illegal to wear headphones while driving. but damn glad your spidey sense kicked in, in time. That musta been hella scary jumpin away from the car. I usually jus listen with one headphone if theres a lot happenin around me.
speakin of vibrations, whats with those guys with hella loud speakers thats about to blow the doors off there freakin car. I hate those pple with a rattle big piece of junk on the road.
Yeah, I just laugh at those driving in a banger with loud music on, they think they're so cool. How on earth can you sit in there like that? (Yep, they've lost it) You ever heard it so loud that your lungs vibrate? Man, I hate that, feels like I'm gonna puke.
hahaha i understand wot u mean, music bangin and drivin wiv 1 hand and mayb wiv a finishin touch, the guy puts on his shades he thinks he's kool, but he's actually a piece of turd thats causin pollution in the air i hate those kinda ppl as well, they think they it -shoot
Wow, that's really terrible. When I went back home for spring break, I was even going to ride my bike and wear my headphones, but I guess I'll think twice, even though my neighborhood doesn't really have a lot of traffic.
yea im my neighborhood, you have to be on guard the whole time. Can't put on your headphones because you won't be able to hear where the gunshots are coming from....
i think is mostly about the person's problem not the ipod. i mean you can have the same accident if you were listening with other mp3 players. geez that just too bad.
man if that happened with most likely regular earbuds, wonder what would happen if it were those canal phones
Ya, those "canal earphones" are crazy.. Aren't they like $300+ and up, like even more expensive than the iPod itself!
