Couple of month ago I read somewhere that Apple started a Replacement program for those kickass old 1st Generation ipod nanos which apparently have faulty batteries. In checked their website and indeed they are replacing them for free, instructing you to send in your old device and getting the very same refurbished one back. Since I had one in my drawer (didn't use it for ages) I registered for the program and they sent me a bag to return it to them. After 6 weeks of waiting time today in the morning UPS knocked on our door and brought me a little parcel. I was bit confused since I didn't ordered anything and I totally forgot about the Nano Program ^^ When I opened the box, there was an new 8GB 6th Generation Ipod Nano. I would say its a nice swap Anyone has one of those 1st gen devices...sent it in and get a brand new 6th gen one. Expect a turnover time of about a month though.
i remember reading about it too - ignored it for a while, saying i'll get around to it thanks for the reminder =) just have to get parents to help find it!
well a lot of places are now stalling the replacement (too many people doing the replacements) guess i have to call up and see what they can do now
