We couldn't have asked for a better partner than Paramount to work with on this very powerful character franchise." Feige added, "We're thrilled to be launching the summer 2008 movie season with 'Iron Man.' Marvel has had great success with the first Friday in May -- 'Spider-Man' broke records on that first Friday and 'X2' debuted at the top of the box office charts as well. We're looking forward to extending that track record with 'Iron Man' and are extremely pleased with the progress of the script, the production team we are forming and the initial production designs." Moore said, "Marvel is one of our most important partners and 'Iron Man' is one of their premier heroes. We're thrilled to be launching our relationship -- and the summer season in 2008 -- with this movie." Equipped with a high-tech suit of armor, he becomes Iron Man to combat evil on a global scale. credits: SuperheroHype.com
I heard that Tom Cruise expressed interest in playing Tony Stark. They have been talking about making this movie for awhile now. In the works includes a Silver Surfer movie, a Captain America movie and even a Namor movie.
yup Silver Surfer!! along with Fantastic 4... but I dunno Tom Cruise... he coo n all... but I don't think dude seems right for the role... cuz I picture Iron Man as like an older guy... like some swankd out ol' G mack...
too many superhero movies and remakes coming out lol, this proves the industry is losing ideas for new original movies-detect
it's original in the sense that it's never been made before... thas what pple like and thas what sells... bringin back those childhood memories and seeing your favorite super hero on the bigscreen..
Some people actually want to see superheroes from comic books come to life in movies because they are die hard fans. I mean even if someone comes up with an original idea for a movie about a superhero, its going translate into a comic book or even a video game anyways. Its not so much about losing ideas, but about making money. They do the same thing to best selling novels. There are so many movies made based on books and not a lot of people seem complain about that. Right now Superhero movies are cashing in, so producers will milk it till it dry's out. As long as they continue to make good superhero movies like X-Men, Spiderman, and Batman Begins, I dont see the genre dying off. That's what movies are all about, bringing people's imaginations to life. I agree that they are doing too many remakes. I am curious on what they would do to improve on the remake of a movie. I am suprise they havent attempted to remake the Wizard of Oz. Remakes are not always better, but the directors tends to tweak a little of the storyline as well as the characters. That can be a bad thing and a good thing. It is always interesting to see what type of changes they will make to the new version.
plot outline from Imdb... Based on the Marvel Comics character, an accident leaves alcoholic billionaire Tony Stark to create a suit of armor to save his life. -lol alcoholic bilionaire.. one word... BADASS... GET READY!!!
cant wait for it, if the storyline sucks at least the film itself will look amazing with the computer graphics.
I initially heard that Ben Affleck was pegged to play Iron man, but then he came out with a series of bad movies and he was dropped.
