I'm thinking of building a new rig. I already have a rig using S939 Asus A8N SLI Premium mobo with 3200+ Venice. I'm thinking of getting the AM2 M2N 32Deluxe wifi version mobo for my next rig. Is it worth it since it uses DDR2 instead of DDR? My budget should be 2G CAD including Taxes.
not really especially with Intels Conroe. Best wait till conroe comes out and then compare the performance differences of AM2 and Conroe to the price differences
From what I read from various computer related sites, the general feeling Im getting is that you should just stick with what you have because it doesn't seem like the AM2 is going to last long before they switch architecture again. Besides, there really isn't that much of a performance increase to justify the spending unless you're rich.
its not really "worth it" but DO IT =) only gain u get is the ddr2, but thats only 5% can always wait =) not like we'd ever b able to keep up anyway...
very true by the time you wait for anything else, something new will surpass that. Just depends on if you can wait or if you really need a comp to use then dont wait
Not to bring back an semi old thread, or so, but why don't you go with intel? Around july 23 or so, they will be launching their new/improve cpus which from the results smoke those offerings from AMD. If you plan on getting a new computer go with intel in the coming month and if you need any tips on what to buy I have some ideas
The rumor says around 23 but sites are taking pre orders now with a 30+price markup which isn't bad when you consider how great this new chips are. If the rumors are true that intel is getting low yields then there is a likely chances of price increases :(. Don't forget if you want Vista you have to wait next year along with features like DX10 and other stuffs...long wait
