to be honest... english football isn't getting better... its the rest of the leagues that are getting worse... English football has become a mercenaries game... they try to sign the best players by throwing out the highest transfer fees... aside from the usual high spenders, Real, Barca, Milan, Inter, Juventus... just about every other club can't compete with the top 4 english clubs in spending... hell even ManCity and Tottenham are throwing out cash now... the French Ligue 1 is a joke they just keep selling, Bundesliga is pretty lucky so far that they can still retain german talent... and we dont' rly need to mention sell happy Ajax in the eredivise...

english talent itself is probably gonna be in freefall mode for another year or two... just wait till a lot of the young talents like Bentley, Young, ReoCoker, Walcott, Lennon, Richards, etc... all come up the ranks... by then they'll probably be still led by Gerrard/Hargreaves/Rooney which isn't a bad thing....

the league itself is becoming better as the league is able to attract a lot of world class players or players with huge potentials from foreign countries but for English football itself, nah, unless young developing English players are given more chances in the teams they play for but thats unlikely due to the influx of foreign players. I mean, its good teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa can keep the same core of English players in the team - Ferdinand, Hargreaves, Rooney, Carrick, J.Cole, A.Cole, Terry, Lampard, Reo-Cooker, A.Young, Agbonlahor but there are a lot of English players which arent given a chance and the clubs just go buy players from abroad
