According to a Hong Kong magazine, to keep his wife happy, Leon used to shower Gaile with gifts which included a car, apartment, and even pets. However, on August 22, the model went to Greece to shoot a commercial and spent her 31st birthday dining with her workmates. Leon refused to comment on the incident when probed by reporters, while Gaile openly whined that there were no surprises this year, "There was one last year on my 30th birthday but there are none this year!" When asked if Leon gave her any birthday present, the model confessed, "None. He stopped giving me presents after we stopped dating!" However, Gaile admitted that she did receive a congratulatory text message from the singer. While Leon was originally scheduled to accompany Gaile to visit his in-laws in the US, the singer's last minute absence fuelled further speculations that their marriage is currently on the rocks. According to an insider, "Leon was supposed to accompany Gaile to visit her parents in July and the couple was scheduled to go to Las Vegas to spend some time alone. Their flight tickets and hotel were all booked but Leon suddenly cancelled his trip, so Gaile ended up going alone." It was also said that Leon did not apologise for his last-minute cancellation. The insider added that, Gaile used to express keen interest in conceiving a child and even said that she will undergo artificial insemination. However, the model recently changed her mind, contrary to what she said before, claiming that babies will have to take a back seat for at least a year or two. It is said that Gaile's return to work -- after cutting down on her modeling jobs since getting married -- is her way of showing her dissatisfaction to Leon.
