Jackie Chan sets up first museum in Shanghai Antique collector cum international superstar Jackie Chan will be opening his first personal museum in Shanghai. This news is revealed by Solon So, managing director of his company, JC Group. According to reports, Chan has suggested building his museum below the Tsing Ma Bridge in Hong Kong because he thinks the place is an ideal one to house the antique buildings and will not disturb anyone. So emphasized that the land to place the antique buildings is not for Chan's personal uses or money making purposes. As a Hong Konger, he prioritized the Hong Kong government as the receiver of the antiques and also think that a Jackie Chan museum should be set up where he was born. However the Hong Kong tourism board is still researching on the possibility of this. Recently, Chan publicly complained that the Hong Kong government has yet to reply to his application to build a museum after ten years; for this, he decided to donate his personal antique collection to Singapore instead. According to Hong Kong's best selling English papers "South China Morning Post", the Hong Kong government has spoken to So to arrange for a meeting, but the time has yet to be confirmed. So said, "If we cannot solve the problems in Hong Kong, the first Jackie Chan museum may open in Shanghai this year instead." The museum in Shanghai will also consist of an antique hut; plans for another museum in Beijing are also in the pipeline. According to reports, Chan's antique collection includes seven old huts, a stage and a pavilion. Among them, some antiques have been shipped to Shanghai, while three to four of them have been donated to Singapore's fourth university.
