Source: Mingpao Translation: llwy12 Jacky Cheung admits to being ‘too old’ to have more children As the father of two daughters already, Jacky is not planning to have any more children in the future because he feels that he is getting old and won’t be able to bear the responsibility of teaching and educating them. Yesterday, during an interview with Eileen Cha’s radio show, Jacky was asked if he had any plans for a ‘[year of the] Tiger baby’. He immediately shook his head and said: “No. If I were to have another baby now, don’t know how it would turn out – when the child is 10 years old, I would be 60 already….it’s no joking matter -- how would I be able to spend time with him/her? I may die and not be able to watch the child grow up or fulfill my responsibilities of providing the best education possible.” After he finished saying this, he remembered that it is the new year and he shouldn’t say negative things, so he quickly added a ‘lucky’ new year’s phrase at the end. Jacky also revealed that there are plans for another on-stage musical. When asked if he will do <<Snow, Wolf, Lake>> again, he replied: “I can’t perform that show anymore – afraid it will end up being “Old Wolf Lake.” Because the character [in the story] starts off in his teenage years, it would be very hard to convince the audience – they may wonder why he already has wrinkles in his teens. If I have someone else play the character, I worry that it won’t meet the expectations of the financial backers – plus I don’t want to ‘skimp’ on the production.” As for his new album <<Private Corner>>, Jacky indicated that his wife May already listened to it but doesn’t like it; his daughter, on the other hand, likes 2 of the songs. He says that his wife has never been a fan of his and generally does not like listening to his songs. When it comes to singing his songs, his daughter catches on very quickly, but unfortunately she forgets the song just as quickly. Jacky says that this proves his songs have not really entered their hearts. Since the day before yesterday was Valentine’s day, Eileen asked Jacky if he gave his wife flowers. He replied that if he gives flowers again, his wife will be very upset and reprimand him for not being environmentally friendly.
i personally feel that Jacky's new album Private Corner is very different from his previous albums. i especially dislike the song Everyday is Christmas.
I agree with him .. having children at an old age is very irresponsible sometimes. Seriously, you're not gonna get to see them grow up and provide them or being a father at all.
