Janice will have her first concert at the HK Coliseum in March. The most expensive ticket is priced at HK$480 which netizens attacked it for being too expensive. Because of it, someone plans to boycott it! Entering the showbiz for just two years, Janice is already strongly supported by Leon. Having good results at the recent awards ceremonies, it's no wonder her record company is investing a lot on her concert of four shows to be held at the HK Coliseum. The ticket prices are at HK$480, HK$380, HK$180, and HK$80, but the prices caused attacks from netizens. Yesterday, a netizen referred to Jacky Cheung's most expensive concert ticket only sold for HK$400 back then, but Janice is fixed at HK$480. The price is apparently too high. Because tickets are too expensive, a netizen decides to boycott it, but there are fans who expressed liking Janice. No matter how expensive, they'll go buy tickets to support her. As a call into question by netizens, journalists contacted Janice's record company executive Alvin Wang to inquire. He emphasized that there are only 1,000 high-priced tickets, "Usually, HK$400 tickets are rows 1-20, but ours are only rows 1-10. The others are at HK$380 which is more worth it. Fans are actually talking about the numbers but not talking about comparing with others. (Afraid it'll affect the sales making Janice unhappy?) No!" Source: The Orisun Translation by janice-vidal.com
thats not expensive compared to concerts prices when ppl come over to toronto >.< *grumble grumble* jacky cheung in feb.... grrrrr XD
I don't think her tickets are actually that expensive.it's quite acceptable. I mean if i bought the $HK480 ticket, it would only cost me like slightly below 90 australian dollars...but then again, if i bought the $HK80 ticket, dats so damm cheap....
wow, i think i would buy her tickets at HK$480, compared to ones in toronto, its very cheap!! nd her singing is very good =D i would support her
But they are comparing with other HK singer prices of course. I hope she gets rid of her nerves for this concert.
lol cant really compare the two.. jacky's done millions of live shows...he's a proven LIVE singer... where as janice this is her first big concert...people are going in not knowing what kind of performance they are getting from janice...from the reactions of her performance here in toronto in the summer.... Janice wasnt that good singing LIVE... i hope she has worked on it because for that price...people expect alot from this concert....then again..it was probably butterflys or nervousness that effected her first couple LIVE gigs.....theres no doubt she has a good voice...but question is can she put it in stage in front of thousands.
u ppl shouldnt compare the price between oversea and hk...cuz hk480 is sorta a lot to average hkers...it is not accurate to compare the price
61.4826 USD HK artists always cost a lot overseas because they think you're more likely to pay a bit more instead of flying to HK to see them there. If you see those ticket prices for casino's the prices of asian entertainers is usually double that of american artists.
I think the proce is alright look at the seating row it is rather more cheaper than some of the other show.
I think its actually not that expensive to go to a concert...i onced searched for ticket prices...and they were actually from lowest of 100-500...ranges about ther... and in Canadain too...
hehe, there's so many overseas (non-hk residents) ppl in this forum that janice's prices isnt turning any heads ^^
compared to tickets to atlantic city and las vegas concerts, the prices they are charging in hk for janice's concert is nothing.
shinobi does have a point..the hk economy is lower...the average ppl there don't make a lota of money...i know some one like 23 yr and making only like 30hkd/hr and full time..so there really is no comparison
That's how the market works. If they think there's more demand than supply, they're going to jack up the prices. And considering how hot she is, I don't blame her. If you like her, you'll understand.
