Japan and China: Schoolchildren's views

    These children are wise beyond their years... While the article, by comparing the attitudes of schoolchildren from China and Japan, illustrated and reflected the difference in attitude to war...

    Yes, it is true that the Japaneses committed cruelty which were unspeakable, however, they have had their fair share of hardship. I found the fact that Japan did not pull a melodramatic act about the A-bombs somewhat honourable, when considering they could have totally done so and antagonize the Americans. Instead, they decided that if anything, the message to present is one that "war is bad to everyone and there's no winning or losing a fight"

    I applaud their positive and pragmatic attitude. Holding old grudges helps nobody (but to antagonize Japanese and in turn make the China-Japan situation more tense) but it was the route taken by China, unfortunately...

    ^its true war benefits no one

    but by teaching that, it can be seen that they were just trying to divert what japan did by saying its bad for both sides

    but yeh i was amazed at how wise their statements were from such young people

    these kids really have their own opinion and analysis of the situation, thats thinking!! they aren't blindly following whats been taught or told....thats quite something
