In the city of Kessennuma, Japan, an odd sort of Aquarium has sparked some attention. Probably due to the fact the entire display of fish are frozen solid. Perhaps they were looking to get more visitors to the Aquarium by making it so unique or perhaps some smart person deducted that they could save a fortune in fish food. Either way the result is a somewhat unique approach to displaying the local fish from Kessennuma waters. The Aquarium is an arrangement of 40 ice blocks displaying 450 specimens (80 varieties) of local marine life. The room temp of the Aquarium is kept at a cool -20 Celsius. source: WAN
Wow, that's one cool aquarium... But I would want to see a sunfish swimming instead of fixed in mid-motion...
Uhm, have double feelings about this; it looks very nice but I hope they didn't use fish that were alive before they froze it.
It wouldn't smell anything different if the fish is deep frozen before they turn stale... plus the "smell" is "locked" in the ice blocks... as long as the ice blocks are made from pure water...
being frozen alive is better then being served and eaten alive... like sashimi... or havin ur head chopped off or filleted...
Meh...When I go to an aquarium, I want to see live animals. If I wanted the fish to be motionless, I might as well see them as pictures online . I hope they won't do this to a zoo >_>.
lol... thas what you need to start collecting now ralli... some frozen fish... -lol build up an aquarium..
it looks umm freaky in a sense more like a museum not a aquarium if i wanna see dead things i go to the museum
