The Japanese singer Misia will perform at Shanghai's Zhabei Stadium on October 25. The singer, referred to as one of the "Singing Princesses of Heisei (the term for Japan's present era)," is also known as "Japan's Mariah Carey." Misia, however, is not satisfied with the nickname although her music style is also R&B. "Although I was proud of the title, I wasn't copying her singing style," she said. Born in Fukuoka in 1978, Misia has never revealed her real name. Unlike some other Japanese singers of her generation, Misia hasn't earned much fame outside her home country. "I spend almost all my time preparing for live shows every year, therefore I don't appear on the television frequently," she said. source: asianbite credit: shanghaidaily
