Jay Chou (周杰倫) has often shown contempt towards the paparazzi’s intrusive methods. When the media tried to follow Jay, his mother, and girlfriend, Hannah Quinlivan, on March 29th, Jay lost his temper and cursed angrily. A video of Jay’s violent behavior towards the paparazzi has gone viral on the internet, in which the online community bashed his action of “ultimate stupidity”! When Jay discovered that reporters were following him on a date with Hannah, hoping to photograph the couple together, Jay was visibly upset. The reporter pleaded, “Please do not behave this way, Jay Chou!” Still angry from the intrusion, Jay countered, “My full name is not for you to utter!” Jay’s remark was ridiculed by the online community, who felt that he acted like an emperor who banished others in addressing him by full name. A netizen commented, “Jay’s counter-filming of the paparazzi is an act of ultimate stupidity,” while others noted, “Jay truly looks petty!” Jay Chou’s Public Relations Responds Although Jay’s behavior was deemed to be juvenile by some members of the online community, Jay’s music company representative pointed out that there were supporters of Jay in the incident. “Jay has been in the industry for 12 years.
