As a guest star for Elaine Ng’s (吳綺莉) new cable TV talk show, Jessica Hsuan (宣萱) openly spoke about her former love life. She shared her past decision to end a stable six-year relationship with a boyfriend in order to pursue her career dreams. Although Jessica has experienced her ups and downs with romantic affairs, she is unafraid to continue the search for her Mr. Right. While in her twenties, Jessica was in a stable relationship at the stage of considering marriage. Eventually, she decided it was not the right moment and ended the relationship by opting for her career instead. Jessica explained, “I was at the peak of my career back then, and my boyfriend made it clear I wouldn’t be able to continue working in the industry if I married him. We would have children, and I would be a full-time mom. I asked myself if I would regret getting married and being unable to continue my career. My immediate response was ‘yes!’, and so I ended up choosing my work. I’ve never regretted that decision.” In the past, Jessica took relationships very seriously and was deeply hurt during breakups. There was a time when she did not feel like dating anyone, and she was in that state for up to a year. Jessica did not want to experience the feeling of crying nonstop all over again. Calling herself a silly girl, Jessica expressed she had not been able to tell whether a man’s feelings for her were genuine in the past. “Whenever someone does a tiny favor for me, I would think he is an awesome man. Nowadays, I know how to distinguish between those who are fake versus real,” she said. Though she has been through unsuccessful relationships, Jessica has not lost faith in love. She expressed, “Never give up! Life is bitterly short and I will open up to new experiences. The most important thing is to find the right person.” Creds: Oncc
