Jimmy Lin at the Olympics, re-injured his knee and might have to pull out of car race

Jimmy Lin is now busy preparing for his concert in Oct. Time is running out. Even though he has already missed many exciting Olympics events he managed to go to the stadium with his manager on Aug 23. He was awe-struck by the Bird Nest and the Water Cube stadiums. He said they are more beautiful and spectacular than what he saw on tv. He marveled at the nation’s grandeur and power. He went in the evening and tried to be low-key but he was still recognized 3 times and was mobbed by fans for photographs and photo-taking. Nevertheless, he was still in high spirit and finished watching some track and field events.

He is usually very cautious in front of the media but today he is overly excited and acted like a kid. He cheered for the winners and felt sorry for the losers. Jimmy said he was most impressed by the 5000 meter final. He saw the Ethiopian runner got gold and could not forget the runner’s slim body and the determined look in his eyes. As an artist who debuted at 17 he knew about the hardship and sacrifices behind success. 5000m running is a test of the runners’ endurance and perseverance. If they do not have the mind of determination it’s very hard to achieve. Jimmy is a good friend of the former gymnast Liu Xuan and learned a lot from her about the athletes’ audacious spirit.

According to Jimmy’s manager he is now busy practicing dancing for the concert. Because of his desire for perfection he re-injured his knee. He has an important car race coming up in Sept and might have to pull out. When he saw the sweating athletes in the field he thought about Liu Xiang dropping out of the hurdles. He believed there’s a touching story behind each athlete.

Jimmy said his favorite events are gymnastics and diving and like soccer and baseball too. If car racing is included in the Olympics one of these days he will definitely sign up.

We also found out from his manager that jimmy’s concert is now in the final stage of preparation. Body building and exercising are the most important lessons for him daily. He has to build up his endurance since he hasn’t done a concert for more than 10 years. He has to sing and dance on stage and the pressure is unimaginable. But pressure is the force behind him and we believe his Oct 17 concert at the Shanghai Hongkou Stadium will be the most dazzling stage for jimmy. Our dream achiever will build a shining castle. We will write our collective memories for 2008.
