Well most employers these days will ask you "situation type" questions, to see/test you on how your would respond to certain on-job issues/situations.

    Like:
-How would you react or what would you do if you were made to do something you didn't want to do?
-How can you prove to us that you are reliable?
-What have you done that was beyond standard for a customer?
-What makes you want to work for us?
-What was one thing that a customer has done to upset you, and how did you handle it?
Etc.(lol, sorry all my questions are retail-food types, as that's what I've worked in before :p)...

Basically, the whole point of an interview is to SELL yourself, you want to show and prove to them why they should hire you. So it doesn't matter if you are kinda self-boasting (but also remember key ideas like teamwork and respect - despite the fact that superstars are great, employers like team players too), just keep in perspective of everything.

But because this is your first job, I would assume you probably have little or no job experience. BUT, most employers are pretty cool with you just using volunteer, extracurricular, school examples. So for example, with "how can you show that you are reliable"... you can maybe say how you always show up to basketball practices and games early... etc.

Also, make sure you don't "fumble" for answers. Be quick and sharp - that's what most employers look for. And be confident :) and friendly of course. EYE contact is super important too!

And be prepared for two interviewers... most job interviews these days also have at least two people firing questions at you!

    Anyways, good luck!

Ya, that's why it's a good idea to think of some answers to some of the more generic questions, ie. like why you would work there.

Usually, I find that the people who amaze interviewers are usually either very good "storytellers" or very "creative" or both....... *cough cough* bs-ing *cough cough*..... but how will they check up on you? :D, lol

generally for any job, its pretty much always the "STAR" stuff
    S - situation
    T - task
    A - action
    R - result

they give u some topic, eg leadership, teamwork, initiative, something like that
then u tell them about one (or more) of your past experiences based on that

so always have a few examples in mind to speak about =)

just wear a simple business suit
    ie, black/dark navy blue suit
    light colored shirt
    darker color tie to match

    just be tidy =)

    where is your interview?

i once had a interview at the local supermarket. they asked me what i see in their long term future and how i feel about their strategy. after that they wanted to know how i can be of value of their organisation.

1 hint: better be overdressed than under. except when you are having a interview at the supermarket or white castle.

    it is myers after all
its a pretty formal process, and if u didn't turn up in bussiness attire, i'm sure u would of been pretty much kicked out first round

tho it does depend on which myers store, the city ones are more formal
and yeah... they hire girls much much much more than guys... lol

well when the employer ask u wat is ur weak point(s)........just say "my weak point is that when i OD on work, my wife kept telling me to chill out and take a break, and i always get piss off or annoyed". Whenever u hear this sorta question, never say anything about urself that jeopordize u. Just say something outside the box with a work and family, or work and friends related sorta thing. This works because the employer doesnt give a shit about u and ur friends or family related stuff. The employer just worry about ur skills and how you are interested on the job.

Im not gonna say dont be nervous.....because saying it is easy; but doing so is hard. Pplz kept saying that to me and i actually listen to them; i regret it (those ppz r gonna pay one day for that). Forcing urself not be nervous isnt a better thing than being nervous.
