Last night, Rose Chan (陳嘉桓) encountered an unpleasant experience at a dinner in Hengdian, China. Rose attended a dinner event with veterans in the entertainment industry. After Joe Ma (馬德鐘)and Benny Chan (陳浩民) became imbibed with alcohol, they hugged and kissed Rose, scaring her out of her wits! Rose’s martial arts sifu, Sin Kwok Lam (冼國林), was extremely angry after learning the details of the incident, criticizing people for “They acted like beasts and took advantage of a weak woman!” Mr. Sin indicated if the incident were more severe, he will pursue legal action and alert the police! Rose Chan just celebrated her 19th birthday and was currently filming Laughter Shaking Shaolin <笑功震武林> in Hengdian. The film also featured Timmy Hung (洪天明). Since there were numerous Hong Kong celebrities filming at various studios in Hengdian, they decided to meet for dinner after work. Rose met Timmy Hung, Terry Fan (樊少皇), Alex Fong (方中信), Benny Chan (陳浩民), Joe Ma (馬德鐘), Michelle Yip (葉璇) and Meng Yao (孟瑤) for dinner. Since it was a crew member’s birthday, Rose attended a karaoke gathering with Timmy Hung, Benny Chan, Joe Ma, and others after the dinner. Someone offered Rose some drinks, but she refused the offer, “I’m still young, so I prefer to drink juice!” Harassed by Joe Ma and Benny Chan After the karaoke, the artists went to a barbeque restaurant. Meng Yao did not join the barbeque gathering. Allegedly, Timmy Hung, Benny Chan, and Joe Ma were already very drunk, to the point where Timmy fell asleep at the barbeque restaurant. After getting drunk, Benny and Joe wanted to have some fun. Joe hugged and kissed Rose, while Benny kissed Rose’s face and lips. Scared out of her wits, Rose brought her hands up to her face and exclaimed, “I’m still very young; please don’t fool around!” A crew member witnessed the situation and separated the trio. Afterward, Joe Ma and Benny Chan apologized to Rose. Rose’s martial arts sifu, Sin Kwok Lam was angered after finding out about the incident. He felt that certain people behaved like beasts, taking advantage of the situation over a weak woman! Mr. Sin said angrily, “Let me find out more details about the incident! If it were more severe, I will not be soft-hearted. I will press charges and alert the police! Currently, we are gathering information about the incident and seeking legal consultation over the matter.” “Rose Chan Is Very Foolish” Possessing a fair nature, Sin Kwok Lam also scolded Rose for not knowing how to protect herself. Mr. Sin said, “There should be mutual respect in the entertainment industry. Getting drunk was only an excuse. Rose lacks awareness and did not know how to protect herself. I scolded her for one hour already! She is very foolish! It is wrong for people to treat a young woman in such a manner. Not only did they not help their juniors, they [took advantage of the situation instead]; I look down on such people!” The reporter contacted Rose about the unpleasant incident in Hengidan. Asked whether Joe Ma and Benny Chan had hugged and kissed her after they got drunk, Rose said, “This did occur over the course of the evening. I pushed them away; perhaps they were drunk and there was a misunderstanding.” Rose also acknowledged that Joe Ma and Benny Chan apologized to her, “They said that they felt bad. I hope such unpleasant incidents do not occur again. We often go out for meals as a large group together and I know how to protect myself, yet this still happened! Benny took it to the next level though, I guess on the cheeks is okay but not on the lips! what Benny was married?!?! Joe Ma, wow that's shocking! Why so many young TVB artist now!
i doubt the two guys are in deep shit, just that shows that SOME men will use alcohol to do certain things and afterwards blame it on the alcohol. imo, both sides had responsibility. the guys should be charged (if they choose to) for what they did, but also, the girl should've protected herself. she's 19 but that doesn't mean she's a little girl, just kick/push them away. she wasn't even alone so that shouldn't be too hard to cry for help if needed.
