Joel Chan (陳山聰) sacrificed his career and friends in order start a wealthy courtship with heiress Florinda Ho (何超雲), the daughter of casino tycoon Stanley Ho (何鴻燊) and his third wife, Ina Chan (陳婉珍). But the couple’s controversial romance ended in less than three years, sparking accusations that Joel’s intentions in getting close with the affluent Ho family was for money, and only for these reasons alone. Earlier, both Joel and Florinda uploaded their Weibo profiles, respectively writing “We are going to separate” and “Love = money.” Afterwards, Florinda traveled to England to heal her broken wounds with retail therapy. Joel’s whereabouts, however, are unknown. Although they have declined to address their breakup reasons to the public, it was earlier alleged that the chic ex-couple broke up after constant arguments over matters of starting a fashion business together. A major reason behind their split, as claimed by tabloids in recent reports, was over money. Florinda and Joel’s “joint” fashion business was mostly paid out of Florinda’s pocket. The 24-year-old fashion icon also showered Joel with gifts, and offered to pay out his credit debts. According to the reports, Florinda ultimately found out about Joel’s money obsession and his motives on gaining ownership of her other businesses and properties. This led to her decision in breaking off the relationship. With his credit debt increasing by the thousands, it was rumored that Joel requested a breakup fee of $10 million HKD from Florinda. That became the final straw for her, and she kicked Joel out of their love nest. Creds: Sina
I don't buy these rumors, cause he has it in the bags if he plays it smart. After he marry her, he'll be rich. Why would he do all these petty stuffs to blow this big meal ticket. If he can't wait to either get her pregnant or marriage to get into the rich family, than he's a fool.
