Despite advice to keep her distance from the gossip-prone Johnson Lee (李思捷), Joey Meng (萬綺雯) is not at all concerned about being linked with her Ox Head Loves Horse Mouth <牛頭愛搭馬嘴> co-star. Originally set to star opposite Bobby Au Yeung (歐陽震華) in the Nelson Cheung (張乾文)-produced comedy series, Joey was later paired up with Johnson instead after Bobby withdrew from the cast due to a schedule conflict. Since the new casting was announced, Joey’s close friends have been warning her to be careful both on and off the set, nervous about Johnson’s public image. Although mostly known for his fun personality and comedic talent, Johnson was recently crowned a playboy after he was caught passionately kissing actress Ellen Chan (陳雅倫) while still in a relationship with his former girlfriend Lukian Wong (王寶寶). Johnson’s flirtatious nature also won him many close female friends, making him an easy target of romance gossips. Despite Johnson’s reputation, Joey believes that the negative rumors are simply publicity ploys and finds Johnson completely harmless. The two appeared friendly and relaxed at the drama’s costume fitting on November 13. Both playing police officers, Joey and Johnson will share the drama’s major romantic story line. When asked if she would be willing to accept a ride from Johnson, Joey confidently replied, “Of course. My husband will be waiting for me at the door. Anyhow I’ve heard that [Johnson] is a gentleman.” Aside from the two, the new series will also feature multiple romantic pairings. Oscar Leung (梁烈唯) and Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗) will become involved, while Fred Cheng (鄭俊弘) will find an on-screen girlfriend in this year’s Miss Hong Kong first runner-up Sisley Choi (蔡思貝). More interestingly, veteran actor Law Lok Lam (羅樂林) will play a part in a love triangle with Mimi Chu (朱咪咪) and feng shui master Mak Ling Ling (麥玲玲). Creds: Ming Pao
