Joey Yung receives "Star Charity Award" Joey Yung was awarded the "Star charity award" at the "2009 China's top star charity award ceremony" in Beijing the other night. The Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs and The Chinese Association of Social Work started this award since 2004. Since then, it has become an annual event aiming to promote charity work and to encourage people to donate in order to raise fund to help people in need. The "Chinese star charts donation" award intends to give recognition to artists who use their public image and influence to raise the public's awareness of the needs for charitable contributions. This is Joey's first time receiving such an award. She is very proud and excited. She told reporters "I am very honored to receive this award. I am particular happy that my charity work has gained recognition. It is my privilege to serve the Chinese community.
