One child and one adult have been stabbed to death at a creche in Belgium. The attack happened at a childcare centre near Dendermonde, northwest of the capital Brussels. An interior ministry spokesman confirmed the death toll after initial reports suggested five people, including three children, had been killed. At least 10 others were injured, the ambulance service said. Local media suggested up to 12 people were hurt in the incident, with some in a critical condition. The creche was attacked by a knife-wielding man wearing black and white facepaint "like a joker", reports said. "At least 10 are injured - 10, 15, 20 are injured, I don't know," Peter Cleymans, director of Dendermonde Ambulance Centre, said. The dead adult was a member of staff, an employee at the childcare centre said. Police helicopters and officers on the ground searched for the assailant, who was caught and arrested while fleeing on a bicycle. He had visited centres for the disabled earlier in the day, according to local reports. "All the injured are being looked after, those not injured have been taken to a special care centre," said Piet Buys, the town's mayor. "They are in shock and need psychological support. yep, read this in the news yesterday morning.... this asshole killed 2 little boys age younger than 2 n a 54 year old lady working at the day chreche. in his pocket he had an address of another chreche 3km away from the one he attacked but he was found by police before he even reached the other one.... after he got arrested he refused to say anything so no one knows his motive or anything... but its very clear that this is just a lunatic who needs to be locked up forever because unfortunately theres no such thing as death penalty.... which would b very fitting now... since its over obvious this guy did it n givin him any other punishment will just be a waste of tax money
Life sentence.. FUCK NOT .. the damn guy deserves DEATH. I have no sympathy for those who killed and claimed to be insane. If you're so fucked up, why live on .. I highly doubt that there's any therapy out there that can remedy a person's mental illness. Being locked up forever is just a waste of our resources so they should just be put to sleep.
^ Personally, I find life sentence harsher than death. To me, death is a quick way out, especially now that torture is illegal, and pain is no longer part of the death inducing methods. I find boredom in prison more painful than a painless injection.
^ I agree with you there that it's harsher to get a life sentence but why waste more valuable resources on a population of people that will never completely recover and continue to post a threat to society. Tax money should be better spent on education and healthcare than on lunatic like this guy.
