36-year-old Jolin Tsai (蔡依林) has confirmed her breakup with 32-year-old Vivian Dawson (錦榮), ending their relationship of six years. Jolin’s manager confirmed the breakup reports today, after rumors about their split started spreading earlier this morning. Her manager said that, while the breakup happened over a month ago, the two are still friends and they occasionally meet up for meals. As for the fire that fueled the split, rumors say that it had something to do with Vivian’s answers in an interview that was conducted a few months ago. The interviewer asked him about his thoughts on marriage, to which he answered saying that he has a traditional way of thinking, and that married couples should merge their finances. He also said his mother had been pushing him about marriage. As Jolin has reported assets of about $2 billion TWD, Vivian’s response to the interview question made it seem like he wanted to marry Jolin for her money. After the interview was released, the actor was bombarded with negative comments by netizens, criticizing him for being a gold digger. Vivian had to release a statement clarifying his response.
