Jolin Tsai’s new album ‘Flower Butterfly’ will release on the 27th and new song ‘Give In’ invited popular male star Ethan Ruan to star in the MV. Initially, her management company was afraid that the 2 were not familiar with each other, but unexpectedly, they realized that they had already collaborated together in a video game ad 5 years ago. Jolin praised him saying: “Feels like he’s grown taller and became more handsome.” Ethan also said: “Choosing to film this MV, besides having feelings towards the song, of course the singer is also someone I like a lot.”

On the day of filming, the weather was very cold. Jolin was wearing a white t-shirt and she had to walk along the Nei Hu bridge. She was so cold she began shivering but at the same time had to act natural. Lucky it was only for 3 hours; the rest of the MV was filmed indoors, straight into Ethan’s warm embrace.

According to the plot, Jolin has to help Ethan shave and she was very nervous: “Lucky the director put some shaving cream inside the razor, otherwise I would be very scared about hurting Ethan.” She also added: “Now I know that you have to shave in the forward direction, I always thought it was backwards, very miserable, never shaved for my boyfriend before.” As for Ethan, this is the first time someone’s shaved for him and he expressed: “Very soothing.”

Ethan, who has done many brave bed scenes in previous idol dramas suddenly had to become very reserved towards Jolin. The 2 lie on a bed together, and she wounds up courage and extends her hand to hold his, but he immediately turns his back on her. This scene made Jolin’s good friend laugh: “Can’t believe you have this day too.” Jolin said: “The love concept in this song is quite similar to me, I’ll also give in to many things for my other half. In the end, I suffer internal injuries, too scared to talk about the problems, and I begin to lose my personality more and more; this is my biggest problem.”
