Joyce Cheng (鄭欣宜) and Shirley Yeung (楊思琦) recently attended a promotional function at a mall in Shatin, where they made a batch of cupcakes. Although Joyce has gained much weight recently, the 27-year old singer and actress expressed she has no plans to go on a full diet, and will not worry about her physical appearance until the day of her wedding inches closer. Joyce stated, “I’m not going to try and deliberately lose weight. I’ll do that when I get married and need to wear a wedding gown.” Furthermore, Joyce firmly believes men should not base their judgment of women on physical appearance, and that she would not want a boyfriend who complains of her weight. Speaking of how her ex-boyfriend Mark Ryan is soon to become a father, Joyce quickly expressed her congratulations. “He is all grown-up now! We actually don’t contact each other much, and I learned the news via tabloid reports. We don’t really have any mutual friends.” When asked when it will be her turn, Joyce replied, “I don’t know yet, but I’ll take things naturally.” She added she is not in a rush to marry, and will be ready whenever her partner is ready. Hoping to keep her two-year-old daughter, Krystal Yeung (楊卓穎), productive during the summertime, Shirley Yeung has registered her in English, Mandarin, and mathematics classes. But despite her focus on education, Shirley expressed she is not a “monster parent” and would constantly bring her daughter out to play. One sport that Krystal seems to enjoy is swimming. At first, the little girl would cry when she was placed in water, but she has learned to like it after several attempts. Shirley shared that when her daughter turns three, she would enroll her in official swimming lessons. When asked if she wants Krystal to enter a swim team just like her father Andy Ng (吳帥), Shirley replied, “I just want her to learn swimming at a young age, so that she won’t be afraid of water. It’s hard to learn as an adult.” Speaking of how Krystal possibly inherited Andy’s diving talent, Shirley laughed awkwardly and expressed, “I don’t know, but she has a singing talent.
