Recently Juno Mak and Kay Tse collaborated on a duet for his new single 《羅生門》which is currently proving popular among the charts. Netizens has deemed the single a 'legendary hit'. Infatuation, affection given leads to a sad emotional ending which seems to be the running theme for the song, when combined together with Juno's《耿耿於懷》released 10 years ago, last year's 《念念不忘》with this years 《羅生門》 has become an incredible medley which flows and invokes the emotions within the listener, causing many to be overwhelmed by lyrics and cry after hearing all three. Many netizens speculated that the main character in the new single was actually about Gillian Chung (ah Gil), whom Juno had wooed in previous years, in which during 2008, when Gillian reached the lowest point in her career and life, Juno was there to protect and comfort her, causing many gossip to arise about their potential relationship, however the match went out before it was even lit. Referring to his song taking over the city by storm, he was surprised and was unaware of its popularity until now. It was revealed that on the single's original release date in the radio station, he was actually unwell so he took a day off to recuperate and received many messages from his friends telling him off the effect his song had had on the listeners ~ likening the effect to 'yellow rain' At first he thought his friends were joking, but then realised that the reception to the song was very good. Lyrics misconception not about the "Juno~Ah Gil Romance" Regarding the netizens speculation that the song was about past love Ah Gil, Juno revealed the truth about who inspired this song. He denied that it was singing about his ill-fated romance with ah Gill but that from the first day of writing the music, he had decided that Kay was going to the lead and had invited her to duet together. Juno praised Kay's singing and that their duet went well, she was definitely the right choice for this role. When asked if the lyrics was actually describing the romance, he denied again and stated that this time the album concept was about the characters going to the same mindset from his song 《耿耿於懷》released 10 years ago. Juno credited the success of the song to the lyricist Wyman Wong, where Wyman was the screenwriter and Juno took on the role of directing. Admits to less contact with Ah Gil When asked if Juno was still in contact with ah Gil, if he ever thought about working together and if the song made him think about her, Juno admitted that he rarely contacts ah Gil nowadays, and that when writing the music it made him think about Kay Tse and Karen Mok was also in his thoughts. Thinking of Kay Tse He described the process of working with Kay and Karen together was like a dream. His new single will be out in September, Juno revealed that someone had expressed interest in turning all three of his singles into movies however at this moment in time he is busy filming so that will have to remain an impossibility for now. Not at engagement stage yet with Janine Dai Recently, there had been a couple who had broken up, and the ex-girlfriend saddened by the boyfriend's suicide used the song to express her situation. Juno said: " Obviously, we do not wish for these tragic events to happen, everyone needs to be rational. I know the audience is wise enough to not commit tragic acts after listening to sad love songs. Creating this song is about the different characters in different roles, I sincerely hope that no one will do silly things after listening to this song" When mentioned about the gossip behind his potential engagement, Juno firmly denied that he and his girlfriend was not yet ready to enter the engagement stage of their relationship.
