Although she is known to play challenging roles throughout her career, Kara Hui recently admitted that her character in the upcoming series, "Criminal Investigation Diary" will be a different kind of tough.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress who appeared at the press conference announcing the new project, shared that she and Vincent Wong will play mother and son who both have Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) - though hers would be much more severe, with five to six different identities.

"It was very exhausting. I even questioned the producer if I had offended him in any way for him to give me such a torturous role," she said in jest.

Kara revealed that in one scene, she even drank four bottles of water so that she could purge for a scene involving her character vomiting all her pills.

"We took two takes for that. It was real vomit. Filming it was more tiring than filming a fight scene," she added.

The upcoming drama will also star Kara's "The Defected" co-stars Benjamin Yuen and Philip Keung.
