First ambassador of the Hong Kong International Film Festival, Karen Mok, told reporters that she accepted the offer immediately and will not be accepting any rewards for the job.
"Being the ambassador of the festival is not just out of passion for movies, but also a gift to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Hong Kong movies," she said.
Mok specially shot four sets of photos for the promotional posters, hoping to borrow the power of images in extending the brand and popularity of the Hong Kong film festival. "I worked together with the photographer and stylist to produce a group of cinematographic photos to reflect my unique perspective of different movies."
After the trip to the Wolong Panda Conservatory for the photo shoot, Mok volunteered her service in Pengzhou to help mend houses of victims of the Sichuan Quake last year.
She also announced her plans to produce a movie of a Chinese former athlete, Wang Junxia, which she will begin on when sufficient funds has been raised. Mok said Lu Chuan, considerably one of the most talented young directors in China, will not be available to direct the film, however, the role as Wang will be taken on by herself.
