Kate said that she loved to dance since young, when she was young she learned how to do chinese dances. All along, Tsui Mommy has been training her on this talent she has. Kate frankly said that her mom is the person who influenced her the most, during the interview Kate picked a song "Your Eyes" (你的眼神) to thank her. About how she ended up participating in Miss Hong Kong, she said that a friend suggested it to her, couldn't believe that she was able to win. She expressed that she had no intention in going into this career because in usual days she never really liked make-up and dressing up. Being able to win the competition was probably because of her self-confidence. Kate also has talent in linguistics, back in college (in the U.S.) it was her major. She would listen to english songs to learn english, like "Can't Buy Me Love" by the Beetles. She used that song to learn most of her english.
