Wednesday August 20, 2008 Hong Kong Kelly Chen (陳慧琳) took a break from her wedding preparations this week to film her last set of ads for jewellery sponsor 3D-Gold ahead of her big day. Kelly has been the face of the company's promotional campaign for four years, so the company has spared no expense in making this set of ads extremely lavish, creating special designs for Kelly to wear. The diamond jewellery, worth over HK$10 million was brilliantly showcased to perfection by two of Kelly's closest colleagues - stylist Chung-Man Hai (奚仲文) and Taiwanese director Jinhe Lin (林錦和), who had been invited especially by the sponsors to work on the project. Among the many costumes designed for the shoot was a white wedding gown and also a butterfly costume, signifying a change to a new stage of her life. To create the effect of the butterfly wings, fishing wire was painstakingly attached to each fold of the dress and then pulled up by the crew as Kelly waved her arms. Just this one look took two hours to create, but Kelly seemed unfazed by this as she willed the director to accept the cut. She smiled that as long as the outcome is beautiful, then she does not mind the hard work. Talking about the wedding gown outfit, Kelly said that it felt like a rehearsal for her forthcoming wedding day and she felt like an extremely lucky bride being cared for by everyone around her. Asked what jewellery she will be wearing for her real wedding day, she maintained the secrecy and said that all will be revealed when the big day comes. credits: batgwa.
