Hong Kong singer-actress Kelly Chen appears to have ruffled the feathers of her mother-in-law by disobeying confinement traditions. Chen's mother-in-law has been taking care of the new mom since she gave birth to son, Chase Lau, on July 10, but sources close to the family said Chen’s parents and her in-laws do not see eye to eye on various issues, such as how Chace should be raised as well as confinement traditions. To make matters worse, Chen tends to side with her mom, infuriating her mother-in-law. Chen’s mother-in-law who is quite traditional, feels that new mothers should avoid to washing their hair as well as exposure to cold elements such as the air conditioner and cold water. But Chen, being a modern day woman, finds them too restrictive. Nevertheless, the 36-year-old knows that her mother-in-law only has her best interest at heart and tries her best to obey the elder so as not to put her husband, Alex, in a tight spot. damn im on kelly's side, wtf? too traditional!, ill be pissed if my mother-in-law told me not to do this or do that
Well .. the mother-in-law is ALL correct. Glad that her mother-in-law cares enough to do all these shits. Frankly, you will bear heavy consequence if you don't follow through. I know a few good examples from my family side where my cousins who like most young people, don't listen to the oldies about not washing their hairs or eating cold stuff during the first month or so I think; are now getting lots of health problem - headache, back sore, anemic, etc .. you name it .. a lot of woman's probs .. carrying a baby and giving birth is no easy task .. A lot of stuffs that they tell you do may seem absurd but as long as it's not life threatening, I don't see why not. After all, they only want the best for you. Certain things can't be proven by science but don't mean you should ignore them.
