Not really because LA did not develop that other guard. For years, they did not bring in someone capable at the guard. Now they will suffer.
i would think yes. the lakers have the talent and the potential to be a great team without kobe. odom would most likely be the x-factor and he is an absolute beast whenever someone in the starting lineup is out.
By the way they have been playing, YES. The defense looks a lot better and more efficient, although the offense is horrible and no clutch players i.e Last Boston game

The pressure of the playoffs can be over whelming for some players. Kobe thrives on pressure. Did you see his overtime performance against Miami last week. Yes, they lost, but he came time everytime and made some amazing nothing but net baskets. That is what Jordan use to do for the bulls in crunch time. So without Kobe the Lakers have no chance.
Both Lakers and The Cavs are resting Kobe and Lebron respectively for the playoffs. Looks like neither team feel that they can win with out their key player.
