Of the many couples in the entertainment industry, Kristal Tin (田蕊妮) and Chapman To (杜汶澤) have stayed strong despite the temptations of glamour and glitz. In an interview by her good friend, Eunice Chan (陳嘉容) , Kristal shares a glimpse of her happy and fulfilling marriage with Chapman. Kristal Admits There Was Another Woman “Yes, there was a third party! We were still dating at the time, and one night, he received a text message. My gut instinct made me pick up the phone to read it, and that’s when the trouble started! I was really hurt and shocked by it all and I said many things to hurt him. I even threatened to break up,” admits Kristal. Kristal continued, “I was in a state of shock and confusion at that time, so no matter how Chapman tried to explain, I wasn’t processing it. I kept yelling at him and saying hurtful words to him because he broke my heart. When I finally calmed down, I rationalized that as artists, we come across many different types of people, and some who have ill-intentions. It’s really up to the individuals whether or not we can resist temptation. I had a talk with Chapman, and told him that the choice is his, but he would have to understand the consequences of his actions.” When asked for advice on how to avoid a third party involvement, Kristal said, “I don’t really have a solution and I’m not an expert. I suggest being rational and level-headed before making any decisions. It’s men's’ nature to like big-breasted women and have sexual desires, but it’s also up to them whether or not to make that move. Chapman and I give each other space and try not to keep each other tied down, because that might result in him going out to release himself. That makes both of us unhappy. I can’t guarantee that Chapman and I will be together forever, but currently we are very happy.” Earlier this year, it was revealed that Chapman was battling a rare nerve disease. Kristal was by his side the entire time, proving their love goes beyond the surface. “When Chapman told me about his diagnosis, I couldn’t believe it. I was in China filming at that time and he was completely healthy when I left! I had many nights of insomnia because I kept thinking unhappy thoughts. But Chapman remained calm and mature in handling his health condition. In fact, he was the one comforting me!” “Chapman explained that the disease will cause him to have blurry vision, kind of like watching a 3D film without the glasses. I immediately wanted to return to Hong Kong to take care of him. Thankfully, my cast and crew were understanding of my situation, so I flew back right away.” “When I saw him, I immediately held onto him and cried because I was so worried.
