Planning their wedding for nearly a year, TVB actor Lai Lok Yi (黎诺懿) and his girlfriend Nicole Lee (李潔瑩) wed on November 11. The couple held a large banquet at Hong Kong Parkview, inviting many friends within the entertainment industry.

On the wedding day, Lok Yi drove his father in-law’s $2 million HKD sports convertible to pick the bride for the traditional Chinese tea ceremony. During the marriage ceremony, Lok Yi declared moving wedding vows and kissed his wife, earning blessings from their family and cheers from the crowd.

    Money is Not an Issue

Nicole participated in the 2007 Miss Hong Kong pageant and worked briefly at TVB, where she met Lok Yi. Nicole soon left behind her entertainment career to manage the family beauty business, which is valued at $500 million HKD. Although the media frequently highlights the financial disparity between Nicole and Lok Yi’s family backgrounds, Nicole insists that Lok Yi is well liked by her parents.

Lok Yi commented on the money issue, “There’s not much that can be done. As long as my wife and in-laws understand, I can only work harder to close the gap between our financial disparity.”

    TVB Artistes Attend Banquet

Lok Yi possesses close friendships with many artistes in the industry. His large “groomsmen” party consisted of Ekin Cheng (鄭伊健), Patrick Tang (鄧健泓) and Emme Wong (黃伊汶).

Banquet attendees included Sharon Chan (陳敏之), Christine Ng (伍詠薇), Ron Ng (吳卓羲), Yoyo Mung (蒙嘉慧), Monica Chan (陳法蓉), Grace Wong (王君馨), Florence Kwok (郭少芸), Eileen Yeow (姚瑩瑩), Mandy Cho (曹敏莉), Carlo Ng (吳家樂), and many artistes.

Friends with Lok Yi for 10 years, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) gave the newlyweds her best wishes and urged them to have children soon. Come Home Love co-stars Lisa Chong (莊思明) and Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯) teased Lok Yi’s nervous state when he forgot the lines of his prepared speech at the banquet hall.

    Honeymoon Will Be Delayed

The couple’s honeymoon will be delayed due to Lok Yi’s work schedule. After getting married, Lok Yi will only be taking three days off to spend with Nicole before returning to the filming set of TVB sitcom Come Home Love < 愛.回家>. Not upset that Lok Yi has to work so soon after their wedding, Nicole expressed that she greatly admires Lok Yi’s work ethics and his career focus.

Additionally, the couple plans to enjoy another two years of married life before thinking about having children.

    Underwater Wedding Photos

Prior to his wedding day, Lok Yi shared several photos from his wedding album on Sina Weibo. The theme of the wedding photos was based on the Five Element philosophy, a traditional Chinese theory that refers to the elements of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth. The Five Elements are used to explain interactions and relationships between various phenomena, virtues, and cosmic cycles.

In the photos representing water, Lok Yi and Nicole took surreal underwater photos. In the photos for wood, Lok Yi and Nicole became one with nature in the forest. In the photos for fire, Lok Yi posed nearly shirtless in front of a background with red lights, representing passion.

Fans praised the creativity and uniqueness of the couple’s wedding photos, though some remarked that Lok Yi’s photos for fire reminded them more of a pseudo model photoshoot more than a wedding album.
