The teasing began just four days ago as the first concept photo of Lee Hyori’s comeback fourth album H-Logic was revealed. Fans were teased even more later that day as a pop art comic style teaser video was released. Then on April 1st, Lee Hyori’s first track Swing, featuring Garry of LeeSsang was revealed. Today, the music video for her song, Swing from Lee Hyori’s H-Logic album was unveiled! As you will see from below, the MV has a rather eerie setting, with the clown being a prevalent theme throughout the clip. Without further ado, check out the MV below! In H-Logic, the “H” represents the inital of Lee Hyori, thus the album title means that the album was created with Lee Hyori’s own logic. Like the track released today, her album will mostly focus on hip hop genres as we revealed about Jiyoon of 4minute and Bekah of After School’s collaboration. What do you guys think about this track? It’s quite catchy, don’t you guys agree? The meaning behind Lee Hyori’s Swing MV A recent tip from an unnamed source explained the newest music video for Swing from Lee Hyori. The music video was released just a few hours ago but it’s been gaining a whole lot of attention already. Causing fans to be even more hyped for Hyori’s comeback with her fourth album H-Logic. Now, the music video of Swing might have been confusing for some of you guys since the storyline is a bit difficult to understand. Supposedly this unnamed source is a friend with the director of the video and this was how it was explained. The clown in the video represents Lee Hyori’s ex-boyfriend. Whoever it may be, the clown is supposed to come off as a hurtful and almost scary ex-boyfriend she’s had in the past. Since the whole song is about love and despair, it’s likely that an ex is incorporated into the MV. It’s also supposed to show that he killed her emotionally. In terms of love, he broke her by either going behind her back, breaking up with her or moving on, your choice to choose. The director of the music video said that the luggage is Hyori. This means that whenever the luggage was in the frame, Hyori wasn’t and vice versa. Because the clown, her ex, “killed” her, she is back to haunt him. That is why she is always behind him and surrounding him while he doesn’t even notice her. He tries to get rid of her by shooting and breaking the mirror but it doesn’t really work. All Hyori wants is to be loved again, which you can tell from the lyrics. She also uses past memories to haunt him such as the black balloons and the red shoes. It’s hard to say exactly what those things represent but it’s definitely something those two had memories of in the past. In the end, it is however you would want to interpret it so nothing is wrong or right but this is one way to look at it. I do have to give it up for Hyori for being original with this music video. While others would have incorporated flashbacks to show the how they broke up with the boyfriend, etc., she decided to make it more mysterious. Hope this cleared up some of the confusing parts of the video. Credit: allkpop
